Snek, the self-proclaimed “chillest meme coin” on the Cardano blockchain, joined one of the strongest cryptocurrency exchanges earlier this week and made history in the process: it became the 900th cryptocurrency listing on the ChangeNOW exchange.
Snek, which leans into its identity as a fun meme token, has a strong, engaged audience and is working on a number of different projects including a Snek Raffle and Snek Game. Details on each project are not listed on the Snek project website but conversation about the effort runs rampant in their community channels.
There is little doubt the Snek project will realize the benefits of listing with ChangeNOW, as the exchange enables tremendous liquidity and interoperability with sixty different blockchains and hundreds of trading pairs at launch.
ChangeNOW CEO Xena Kash shared her excitement about the milestone for the exchange: “Reaching 900 supported cryptocurrencies is a testament to our commitment to democratizing access to the world of digital assets. We believe that crypto should be accessible to all, and we’re proud to provide our users with a diverse range of options to participate in this transformative financial landscape.”
The CEO’s words reinforce ChangeNOW’s increasingly-pivotal role in the international cryptocurrency market. By continuing to grow their footprint and supporting a diverse range of blockchain projects, ChangeNOW has avoided criticism that has fallen to firms like Coinbase which has been criticized (and investigated) for its role in potential market manipulation.
With the addition of Snek, ChangeNOW has entered the world of the Cardano blockchain which currently ranks as the 8th largest cryptocurrency ecosystem. This rising tide is an overwhelmingly positive step for all involved.
